Blink Brow Bar – Review
Established 5 years ago, Blink, the pioneer of walk-in eyebrow bars now have 11 stores in the UK, 8 of which are in London. Blink specialise in the art of threading. Threading is an ancient Indian skill which simply uses thread to remove unwanted hair-it is the most natural and effective way to take care of brows and the ubiquitous mono-brow.
Threading works by the beauty therapist twisting and rolling the thread along the surface of the skin entwining the hairs and removing them from the base of the follicle. This method allows for greater precision and a cleaner finish.
The results are longer lasting with immaculately shaped eyebrows. For us guys the therapists are very aware that we don’t wish to look too preened so they will initially start with an eyebrow tidy up and then it’s up to you just how brave you wish you be. Beware though leave the startled drag queen look to those who do it best. I opted for a trim and subtle shaping from the bottom of the brow and centre of the two. Bearable pain blitzed with TLC and craftmanship reveals handsome brows and showcases your face at its best.
Other benefits of threading include no chemicals or artificial waxes used around the delicate eye area, and a fast and precise finish with minimal redness.
Receptionist at Blink’s Fenwick Bar, Amy, informs me that around 25% of Blinks clients are male; whilst I was there 3 out of the 6 seats were occupied by guys. For those of you who wish for total privacy some of Blinks Bars have a treatment room which you can request.
A 15 minute threading session costs £17.00. A number of services are also available ie, eyelash/eyebrow tinting, eyelash perming and even eyelash extensions.
Blink Bars can be found around London at Fenwicks, Bond St. Brent Cross, Hendon. Selfridges, Oxford St. Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge. House of Fraser, Westfield, Terminal 5 Heathrow. Also available in Bristol, Manchester and Birmingham.
Blinks Bars minimise fuss by offering a drop in service or you can book in advance if you wish.
