Dermalogica’s Daily Defence Block SPF15
Our skin is 25% thicker than that of our female counterpart’s. Thicker skin calls for stronger formulas to dig deep and address our skin care issues. Dermalogica have one of the most extensive facial skin care ranges around and invest massively into scientific research. We decided to put Dermalogica’s Daily Defence Block SPF15 into the hands of our Grooming Editor, Steven O’Neill, to see if it really cuts the cloth.
Review: Steven O’Neill test drives Dermalogica’s Daily Defence Block SPF15
From a good face cream I’m looking for hydration and a pleasant texture; nothing too greasy. Matt is massive at present, the shiny look was very 1990′s. With this in mind, I took to Dermalogica’s Daily Defence Block SPF15 with an open mind and addressed every aspect of the formula. Immediately, points scored for SPF15 content. I always try to use a moisturiser with spf in the mix as the damage caused by the UV rays cannot be underestimated.
Dermalogica’s Daily Defence Block SPF15 comes in an easy to use, pump action bottle, very convenient. The smallest amount covers the face perfectly well, leaving a matt finish and no greasy residue. My skin felt incredibly well hydrated after just one week using the product. Most products pass my desk and I aim to review them all. I make no joke when I say Dermalogica’s Daily Defence Block SPF15 is the best moisturiser I have used in a long time. The only problem with the formula is the preservative content. Parabens are rapidly becoming the enemy of the skin care world and Dermalogica continues to use them to extend the shelf life of their products. The research into their effects isn’t quite transparent yet, but one thing is for sure, most brands are removing them from the ingredients list’s. That aside, Dermalogica’s Daily Defence Block SPF15 is a super performer in the male grooming world, if you’re not overly concerned about Parabens give it a go. Disappointment you will not feel!
