Tried & Tested: Sartorial by Penhaligon’s
Sartorial is the latest scent to be released by British fragrance house Penhaligon’s. The cologne is inspired by the workshops found on the infamous tailoring highway of Savile Row and offers an insight into the aroma of such environments.
The scent opens with some sharp, bitter notes – almost industrial. Settling fairly rapidly, Sartorial calms into the sweet smell of wealth and an air of expertise. I’m always amazed by odours which tell a story, and a story Sartorial tells. You can almost create a mental image of the surroundings in which these craftsmen work just by following the trail of carefully selected oils chosen to create the bouquet. Sartorial is best worn, as the name suggests, with tailoring or smart casual clothing. Best suited to the fragrance leaders, not the followers, Sartorial will enhance the surrounding of all in receipt of its savor.
Best for: it’s seductive scent
Top marks for an incredible effort to create such a wonderful fragrance.
